President's Message

In recognition of our 25th anniversary we adopted the slogan "25 Years and Building..." It's a slogan that I believe reflects our company's attitude about the future as we look forward to significant growth opportunities over the next five years.

In 2008 we added three new positions; a Business Development Manager, an Estimator and an additional Project Manager. We had over a dozen active projects during the year and our affiliate, Wise Services, was awarded a multi-year contract at a Department of Energy facility in South Carolina. The addition of those positions and that contract brought our total number of employees to sixty-four.

Also this year, we developed a new Strategic Marketing Plan that set forth the growth objectives for our company over the next five years in both public and private sectors. I have pledged to take the necessary actions and provide the necessary support to ensure that we meet our 2013 revenue goals.

To that end, it is important to us to foster strong relationships with our customers and potential customers, with our subcontractors and vendors, and most of all with our employees as we strive to hold true to our mission statement: "By safely and profitably "Building the Best" for our customers, it is our commitment to provide opportunities for the continuous livelihood and personal development of all employees."

...LOOKING TOWARD THE FUTURE
In 2009 we will continue to adjust to local market changes by developing new opportunities in the private sector markets such as healthcare. We also look to grow our CM business through Wise Construction Management as we continue our involvement in the Dayton Public School District as well as other school district's building programs. We will continue to strengthen our relationships with our local business partners and will seek opportunities to leverage our presence in South Carolina by identifying opportunities for revenue growth in that region as well.

Wise Construction will continue to demonstrate leadership in the community by working for changes in the important issues that impact our company and companies like ours. Issues like ever changing regulations and policies that effect how we do business and make decisions, as well as issues of diversity and the influence it has on future growth and changes in the markets we serve.

While it has been enjoyable to celebrate our 25 year milestone, our focus must now turn to the 30th, 40th and 50th year. We each have a responsibility to lead in the areas of safety, profitability and personal development, which are the impact words of our mission statement. However, it is my responsibility and commitment to provide support in those areas and to ensure that future management and structure are in place to perpetuate the company in the next generation and beyond.

I want to thank all of our team members for their long standing commitment, and our customers and business partners for their support and belief in us. And mostly, I thank GOD for allowing me to be a part of a GREAT COMPANY with great people.
